Wriggle and Crawl - Summer 1In this section...
Our 'Wriggle and Crawl' topic theme is Science-based. 'Animals, including humans' helps us to learn about different animals in our local habitat and what they need to stay alive. We also learn about different life cycles of animals and humans. We decide what makes a healthy and unhealthy lunch box and record the effect of exercise on the body to help us understand why exercise is good for us. We link our Science learning to Computing by collecting information to create a digital map.
Our Geography learning 'Terrific Termites' explores the similarities and differences between the UK and Africa where we compare a termite mound to a human home.
We use the theme of animals to use and combine different materials to create an insect collage in Art.
Our Music this half term covers 'Mixed genres'.
PE lessons comprise of Yoga and Games, focusing on striking and fielding skills.
RE focuses on Islam and the importance of the mosque to Muslims. We also find out about Ramadan and how this is marked by Muslims, culminating in the festival Eid-ul-Fitr.
During this half term in PHSE we explore the theme 'Relationships'. We focus on who cares for us and how we can show our feelings appropriately when we are not happy.
