Tribal Tales - Summer 2In this section...
Our Tribal Tales work links very closely to our History topic 'Stone Age - Bronze Age', where we delve back into the past to learn about early humans. We study the changing coastline and the tools used during this time for hunting. As we travel through history, we learn about how the Bronze Age affected life in Britain and how iron was mined in the Iron Age and brought about further changes. This links closely to our D&T work where we learn how wattle and daub were used when we visit Buster Ancient Farm. In our Art lessons we look at cave paintings and tribal masks.
In Computing we take on the role of bug fixers and learn how to identify and de-bug programs as well as staying safe online.
We continue our learning with djembe drums in Music and PE lessons comprise of Swimming and Athletics.
RE explores the meaning of symbols in the synagogue. We also learn the importance of Israel and Jerusalem to Jewish people.
During this half term in PHSE we explore the theme 'Changes'. We analyse different changes and how they have made things better and also how change makes people feel.
In Relationship Education we talk about the importance of eating a healthy diet and the concept of confidentiality (when this should be kept and when it should not). We discuss what physical contact is appropriate and how our bodies change as we grow up.
In French we learn about different animals and how to say simple sentences.
