Superheroes - Summer 2In this section...
Our topic launches with us coming into school dressed as a Superhero! We explore different 'History Heroes' as part of this and learn about Rosa Parks and Emily Davidson and how they influenced positive changes in history to help us have better lives.
In Computing we use these stories to create an audiobook which includes different sounds and in Art we use our knowledge of mixing materials to create a climbing Superhero.
Using imoves in PE we explore how Superheroes move and put our ideas together to create and perform a dance. We also explore different ways of travelling and how to use our skills of hopping, skipping, jumping, galloping and leaping in team games.
RE focuses on Judaism. We learn about what Jews believe about God and understand the importance of Abraham and Moses to Jewish people.
Our Music focuses on 'Western Classical Music'.
During this half term in PHSE we explore the theme 'Changes' and to understand what changes will occur and what will not, linking it to how we have already changed. We learn about what 999 is for and understand that money comes from different places and it is used for different reasons.
In Relationships Education we identify and name different body parts, linking this to our senses and compare the differences between boys and girls. We talk about what is private and how to stay safe by not having to keep secrets. We also explore how people's feelings and bodies can be hurt.
