Scrumdiddlyumptious! - Spring 2In this section...
Our topic ‘Scrumdiddlyumptious’ begins full of excitement with ‘Year 3 does Bake Off’. We all take part in a baking competition with a ‘technical challenge’ as well as a ‘showstopper’ whilst the judges (the teachers) decide who the ‘star baker’ is. Throughout the topic, we read a range of recipes and write our own as well as learn how to write a persuasive letter.
Our Art learning links closely to this as we create 3D sculptures of chocolate - yummy!
We have lots of fun during this topic, tasting a variety of foods and discovering how good food helps us to grow fit and strong! We learn about the importance of the skeleton and how our muscles work. We plan and carry out tests and compare our predictions to our results.
We link our Science, D&T and PHSE work together to design and create a healthy pizza, thinking about how to be hygienic in the kitchen to prevent the spread of bacteria and disease.
Using 'We are Vloggers' theme, we learn about how wi-fi works and put together a presentation for an audience in Computing.
In French we learn how to give and understand instructions and the days of the week.
Our Music genre this half term is 'Music from Around the World' and PE lessons comprise of Dance, Tennis and Handball.
RE focuses on Christianity and why the Bible is important to Christians. We explore the genres of the Bible and the messages contained within the Parables.
During this half term in PHSE we explore the theme 'Good to be Me'. We focus on looking for the positives in everyone.
