Muck, Mess and Mixtures - Spring 2In this section...
'Muck, Mess and Mixtures' is a Science-based topic theme. 'Uses of Everyday Materials' is the focus we learn to recognise name objects and talk about the material it is made from, thinking about their properties. We carry out a range of experiments to test different properties and learn how to set up experiments, record results and talk about our findings.
Linking to the theme 'Mixtures' we explore colour mixing in Art and develop our skills in different painting techniques, using this to create a butterfly.
In Computing we develop our programming skills to create a set of instructions to travel in space and debug our mistakes.
Our Music genre this half term is 'Reggae'.
PE lessons comprise of Gymnastics and Games, focusing on travelling skills.
RE focuses on Christianity and why the Bible is important to Christians. From reading the story of the Good Samaritan, we reflect on good deeds. We also explore and learn about how Christians mark Lent.
During this half term in PHSE we explore the theme 'Good to be Me'. We focus on understanding different feelings, how we change as we grow up and how we can look after ourselves. To keep ourselves safe we look at the importance of shampoo, soap and toothpaste and know that some household products can be harmful if they are not used properly.
