Blue Abyss - Summer 2In this section...
As we dive deep into the ocean, we learn about our Blue Planet in Geography, understanding how the water cycle works. We pay particular attention to the major rivers across the world to understand how they change and their importance to us as humans. Linking to our topic 'Ancient Egyptians' last half term, we study the River Nile closely.
In our Science topic, 'Living Things and their Habitats' we learn about classification and why animals are suited to their habitats. We look at environmental change and the impact this has on all living things.
Water inspires our Art learning this half term and we learn to combine visual and tactile qualities in our art work through using sketchbooks.
Wider Opps continues for Music where we continue to learn the cello and violin. We also link our Music learning to Computing as we create musical compositions.
We extend our skills in answering and asking questions in French and PE comprises of Gymnastics and Athletics.
In RE we study Sikhism exploring and understanding what Sikhs believe about God, the symbolism of Il Onkar, the life of Guru Nanak and how he spread his teaching.
In PSHE we explore the theme 'Changes' and recognise why change can sometimes feel uncomfortable, but that we keep our identity even though we grow and change from children to adults. In Citizenship we consider democracy and relate this to our own school experience in the classroom. We also explore that to get something in the future might involve saving money.
