Allotment - Summer 2In this section...
Our final topic of the year allotment involves us growing fruit and vegetables and visiting a local allotment. We link this to our Geography learning where we study the economic activity in the UK and the type of settlements we have here and in in the local area.
In Relationships Education we learn about changes since birth and those which happen during puberty. We also learn about how to deal with requests of images and decide what is appropriate and what is not. As we prepare ourselves for Year 6 (PHSE), we consider moral dilemmas we come across in everyday life and how to manage these. We learn about the role of voluntary, community and pressure groups. We also look at the reasons why people smoke, how to stay safe on our bicycles and when using a mobile phone.
In our study of Sikhism (RE), we learn about how their sacred text is treated, what Sikhs believe about God and where they go to worship.
PE comprises of Athletics and Rounders and the genre for Music is 'Western Classical Music'.
We develop our Art skills by using our sketchbooks for observational drawings. We also use watercolours to create water wash techniques.
In Computing we become web developers to plan, design and create a website for a specific audience.
As we become more proficient in French we are now beginning to read and write as well as describe something using several linked sentences.
